Wool joins the fight against MND

Motor neurone disease (MND) is the name given to a group of closely related disorders that affect the motor neurones. Motor neurones are nerve cells that control the voluntary movement of muscles. Degeneration of the motor neurones result in progressive muscle wasting and weakness because the nerve supply to the muscles is impaired.

In Australia one of the highest profile fighters against the disease is Aussie Rules football legend Neale Daniher, who (for those unfamiliar with the ‘Southern passion’ that is the AFL) played in the red and black of Essendon out at Windy Hill.

Daniher helped found the FightMND charity after being diagnosed with MND back in 2013. Recently the charity linked with the Australian Wool Foundation to raise funds; for the full story click here.
