Hugh de Lacy, Founder
Hugh de Lacy is a best-selling author and award-winning journalist. Newspapers he has worked for in New Zealand include The Dominion, the Christchurch Star and the Wanganui Chronicle. He was also writer and locum editor of NZ Farmer, and editor of the NZ Journal of Agriculture. de Lacy has co-authored books with sporting icons Grant Fox, Steve Williams and Peter Bellis. He is also a former shearer and shearing contractor. As well as providing written material, Hugh is responsible for The Southern Series’ Event Management.

Michael Mehaffey, Founder
Michael Mehaffey is a widely-travelled journalist who recently returned to New Zealand after more than three decades living and working in Asia. For the past 25 years he has been based in Singapore working as a writer and sports television producer. This included stints with Reuters, ESPNStar and Lagardère Sports. In this time he has produced countless hours of live and pre-recorded television across a wide range of sports. Michael is responsible for The Southern Series’ Content Management, including television and digital media.
